DIY Gift Wrap – Part 2

I have channeling my inner Martha Stewart recently and the outcome, well, my room is literally covered with DIY projects which is actually quite therapeutic as I find myself lost in time thinking about not much else but concentration on what I’m making. There is something rewarding about making hand made goods not to mention  incredibly eco-friendly and frugal.  Lately I have been looking around the home for cans, jars, bottles, paper and fabrics which I can turn into something prettier and of use.

Last time I showed you how to make your own designs using brown paper this time it’s using paper using something you may have already. This idea comes from an old Oasis shopping bag that my sister had, I kept staring at the design thinking how gorgeous it is and decided to recycle it by turning it into Gift Paper, it’s easy to overlook things that are right in front of you that can be recycled and paper bags from fashion stores are often quite good to throw away.

Follow the Instructions below to make the flower detail.

I used an old button I had for the bud detail, a bunch of pearls would look great or any other detail you have. If the handle does not fully go around the present use some twisted up black tissue to replace it.

Glue the flower onto the front and Viola, this is just my interpretation but think of who the gift is for and what little details they might like.

For the run up to Christmas I will be posting Part 3 of the DIY Gift Wrapping which I hope you will like. Made from twine, crepe and old lace that I have left over from art school, I’ll show you how to use them to create beautifully wrapped festive presents!
